Public "price indexes" you see elsewhere are either (a) stale by the time they appear, (b) based on a single source/route and not applicable to your deal, or (c) bait for supplier-padded margins. A formal Proforma Invoice priced to your specific 40HQ / 3-container / 10-MW order is the only number that actually matters.
How Pricing Is Set
Five inputs drive the final $/Wp on your PI:
- Order size: 1-container jobs vs 10-container jobs have materially different factory pricing.
- Technology & wattage: PERC / TOPCon / HJT / BC each price differently, and the same technology at 580W vs 730W is a different cost tier.
- Destination & Incoterm: FOB Ningbo, CIF Hamburg, DDP Johannesburg — freight + insurance + duty + VAT + CBAM differ by thousands of dollars per container.
- Payment terms: 100% TT prepayment prices lower than 30% deposit + 70% against B/L copy.
- Week of the market: TOPCon spot moves 2-5% week-to-week; HJT premiums compress and expand.
